Traditional cloth for men


Talking about Indian Clothing, there are some differences with the other culture. Man and women are basically have a different types of cloth.

First of all, let me give some example and a brief explanation about Indian men clothing. Well, basically there are three types of Indian Traditional cloth for men. Let us go one by one:

Sherwani as show in figure 1 is a long coat-boss jacket fastened with buttons, basically the sherwani come to just below the knees. the collar of this wear is called Nehru Collar which means collar that is stands up. India men do wear this Sherwani with a tight fitting pants or trauses called Churidars.
Basically this Sherwani is wear by Indian men during wedding ceremonies by the groom.In addition to make the Sherwani look more interesting, they wear it with a scarf.

In figure 2, the man is wearing an Indian Traditional cloth named Lungi. Lungi is also known as sarong in malay words. Basically, Lungi is a traditional garment of India. The colour of Lungi is white expect for the Mundu.
Lungi, are divided into two, which are the open Lungi and the Stitched Lungi. The open Lungi is palin sheet of cotton silk while the Stitches one has both of its open ends stitches together to form a tube like sturture.
It is usually tucked when the person is working in field or workshop.

Next is Dhoti as shown in figure 3, is basically a long stripe of cotton and mainly worn by men in villages. Dhoti is worn with the help of belt, ornamental and embroidered or a flat and simple one around the waist.
Basically, there are differences in wearing a Dhoti because of their languages. They tend to called Dhoti with another name according to their languages.
